The Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump in the Metro Bag. This professional grade breast pump features two phase pumping technology, originally developed for the top-of-the-line Symphony breast pump. These two pumping phases mimic the baby's suck during let down and expression nursing. This pump also has a removable DayCarrier Kit, and removable motor unit. It is an ideal pump for the mom who needs to pump frequently, or is returning to work. This electric breastpump set comes complete in a black designer bag that has butter yellow trim, with 4 collection bottles, 2 PersonalFit two piece breastshields, contour cooler unit, and battery pak that uses AA batteries. This pump is one of Medela's regularly available slate of Pump In Style Advanced breast pumps. This section shows all the replacement parts available for the Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump that are available from Medela.PersonalFit breastshields are purchased in pairs, and are available in five sizes - small, 21mm; medium, 24mm; large, 27mm; extra large, 30mm, and XXL 36mm. The PersonalFit Breastshield is attached to the PersonalFit Connector which provides a four way connection between the breastshield, the pump tubing, the pale yellow valve and white membrane, and the collection bottle. The PersonalFit Connector is used with all Advanced Pump In Style Breastpumps - it is the same size regardless of the size shield being used.
At the base of each breastshield connector is a yellow valve, with a white membrane. The pump will not function without this attachment. Many women like to keep extra supplies of these, particularly the white membranes.
Also shown in this section are the standard breastshield options. The standard shields are a one piece shield -- they do not come apart into a shield (cone) and connector like the PersonalFit or SoftFit breastshields. They are more economical to purchase, especially if you purchase the Breastpump Accessory Set, but only come in the medium (24mm) size. If you need a different size breastshield you will need to purchase PersonalFit shields AND connectors separately to replace the standard shields.

All Medela bottles are BPA free
All Medela breast pumps come with at least one collection bottle. All Medela bottles have a universal thread and are completely interchangeable, as are the solid lids. Whether you are using the new wide base nipple with the wide base collar or the older style nipple with old style collar they will fit on any Medela bottle. The two bottles shown on the left are no longer available but any of the bottles shown below will fit your pump.

The faceplates and port caps shown below are pieces that fit onto the front of the breast pump. The four faceplates pictured here are older designs of those faceplates. The faceplate attaches to a plastic frame, and directly underneath the faceplate is the actual rubbery diaphragm. If the frame or the rubbery diaphragm are broken, you will likely have to replace your pump. Neither the rubber diaphragm nor the frame is available as a replaceable part.
The design of the faceplate for the Pump In Style Advanced has changed a number of tiimes since the Advanced pump was introduced in 2003. Here are some of those older designs that are not available to us for retail sale. Below these images is the current faceplate that is available for purchase.

In order to power your pump you will need an AC adapter/transformer. If your pump suddenly stops working, it may be that you need to replace your AC adapter. If you find yourself in a situation where you do not have access to an electric outlet, you can use the battery pack provided with the pump, or you might consider getting a vehicle lighter adapter. The AC adapter for the Advanced Pump In Style Breast Pumps made 2003 -- 2007 is different to the transformer used on other Pump In Style models - they are not interchangeable.
This item in 110V for USA circuits. Medela used to produce this item in 220/240V for overseas use but have now discontinued those transformers. Look for the item number on the back of your AC adapter, or on the faceplate of your breast pump in very small print where the power cord plugs into the pump. The black AC adapter pictured works with the 2008 - 2012 models of the Advanced Pump In Style. These pumps do have a small label on the faceplate that indicates to use this ac adapter. This ac adapter is Medela item #9207010 (USA model). This AC adapter/transformer is the same one that works with the Medela Pump In Style Original Professional Breastpump. If you are not sure of the item number for your pump AC adapter/transformer look on the pump faceplate where the power cord plugs into the pump. It will be printed there -- in very small print. This is the new version of the vehicle lighter adapter designed for use with the 2008 and later models of the Pump In Style Advanced breastpumps. Look for a notation on the front of your pump to indicate if this 9 volt version is needed. If you purchased your pump before 2008 use the vehicle lighter adapter above, not this one.
