What do I need to know about International shipping options?
I am spending more than $150.00. Which shipping option should I choose?
If you purchase $150.00 worth of goods, you get to choose, at check out, whether you want free UPS Ground Shipping, or free US Post Office Priority Mail.
It is our experience that UPS offers a better service with guaranteed transit time, good tracking information, and a guaranteed delivery date. If you parcel is being delivered to the same address to which your order is being billed, a signature is not generally required at the time of delivery. The map below shows the guaranteed transit times for UPS. Please note these transit times are given in business days. UPS does not operate ground delivery on weekends.
UPS will guarantee delivery (with tracking) the next business day if you are in Alabama, Mississippi, NW Florida, most of Louisiana, and parts of Georgia.
UPS will guarantee delivery (with tracking) in two business days if you are in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, eastern Missouri, southern Illinois, Indiana, south west Ohio, and southern Virginia.
UPS will guarantee delivery (with tracking) in three business days in Arizona (except north-west corner), New Mexico, most of Colorado, south-west Wyoming, Kansas, eastern Nebraska, parts of eastern South Dakota, most of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, northern Illinois, western Nissouri, Michigan, most of Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Conneticut, Delaware, Maryland, and northern Virginia.
Other areas (see map below) may take longer than three days.
US Post Office Priority Mail reaches most destinations in the 48 contigious states in two business days. Alaska and Hawaii can take a little longer. However, this transit time is not guaranteed. Prioirty packages do have Delivery Confirmation from the Post Office so they are scanned at the time of mailing and at the time of delivery, but the Post Office has no obligation to scan or track the package in transit. Also, breastpumps are insured so the Post Office does require a signature at the time of delivery.

Shipping Within the United States, or to APO /FPO addresses.
The shopping cart will offer you a choice of US Post Office options. If you are shipping to an address in the US it will also offer you a number of UPS options. Delivery times to APO amd FPO addresses generally take longer than the times given here.
US Post Office First Class Mail is available for orders weighing 0.1 to 13 ounces with charges ranging from $2.50 to $4.75. If your package is going to weigh more than 13 ounces the shopping cart will not offer this option. First Class Mail is delivered to most location in three business days, but the Post Office does not provide any guarantees on transit time.
US Post Office Prioirty Mail is generally a faster service than First Class Mail, and is usually delivered in two business days. Shipping charges are calculated by weight, and are charges at the actual Post Office cost plus $1.00.
US Post Office Express Mail is delivered to most locations overnight. This is the only service for which the Post Office offers a guaranteed delivery time and date (except for APO and FPO addresses). The Post Office also asks for a signature at the time of delivery. We do request that the Post Office waive that requirement on small orders but the ultimate decision is up to the mail carrier delivering the package.
UPS Ground Service, UPS 3 Day Select, UPS 2nd Day Air, and UPS Next Day Services are available for the 48 contigious United States. UPS provide tracking information for all their services. UPS service is not available for delivery to APO and FPO addresses, unless you provide a base street address (not a Post Office Box number). The delivery time for UPS Ground depends on your location, as shown on the map above. UPS does not pick up packages ever the weekend. Saturday delivery is available in a few areas but only for UPS Next Day Air Service. There is a $15.00 surcharge, in addition to the charges given by the shopping cart, for this service. Our charge for UPS shipping is exactly the same charges as UPS publishes on its site at www.ups.com There are no additional charges added.
How long will it take for me to receive my order by UPS Ground?
This map above will show you -- the key in the bottom right hand corner shows the number of days each color represents.
Orders received by 3:00 PM CST, Monday to Friday, are usually shipped the same day as the order is received. We do ship by United States Post Office on Saturday morning. However, our guarantee is that we will ship your order within 2 business days.
If you would like us to ship your order by Federal Express we will be pleased to do so, but FedEx is not yet incorporated in the shopping cart, so you would need to e-mail us or call us at 1-866-998-BABY to get a quote for shipping charges. There is a $5.00 service charge for Federal Express shipping.
- If we receive your order by 2:00 PM CST on a weekday (Monday to Friday), it will be scheduled to ship the same day.
If there is a delay in shipping, you will be notified by e-mail, to give you the opportunity to cancel your order if you wish to do so.
How are First Class Mail and Priority charges determined? --
Any envelope or package being shipped to a United States or APO/FPO address, and weighing up to 13 ounces, can be sent by United States Post Office First Class Mail. The Post Office says that packages addressed to U.S. addresses should reach their destination in one to three business days, but that delivery time is not guaranteed. Our First Class Mail charges range from $2.50 to $5.75 depending on the weight of the package. Since most of the items we sell are very light weight, many of our orders can be sent by First Class Mail and the shipping charges are low. However, items such as cooling elements, transformers, nursing stools, and Mothers Milkmate are too heavy to send by First Class Mail, and must be sent by Priority Mail, or UPS.
Any package ordered from Babytalk can be sent by United States Post Office Priority Mail. Priority Mail is transported along with First Class Mail but is processed ahead of the First Class Mail, so should reach its destination a little quicker. The Post Office says that Priority Mail should be delivered to U.S. addresses in one to three days, but again this is not guaranteed. If you package weighs more than 13 ounces it is too heavy to be sent by First Class Mail, so you will have to choose Priority Mail or UPS. Priority charges are based on actual postage plus $1.50 handling.
US Post Office Express Mail is delivered to MOST locations the next day. Shipping charges are calculated at actual Post Office charge plus $3.00.
Shipping to Canada (excluding the Yukon and Northwest Territories).
When you check out you will see a page that shows your various choices for USPS shipping plus their individual costs. You choose the shipping option that best suits your needs. The total shipping charge is based on the actual United States Post Office shipping charge, plus a handling fee of $3.00
International Orders -- outside United States and Canada
Before placing you order, please consider the following --
- You are importing products from abroad. Your purchase may be subject to customs fees or taxes according to your country's laws. Some of these charges can be very high. Please check with the appropriate authorities if you believe this could cause you a problem. If you do not pay the fees, your parcel will likely be held by the Customs Department, and will not be able to get a refund from us.
- If you are ordering an electric breastpump, it is designed to work on a sytem of 110V AC electricity. If your country does not use this voltage, you will need to purchase a power transformer from an electronics or hardware store in order to use the pump.
- In order to determine that your credit card number is valid, we must obtain an authorization code from the appropriate company. If we are unable to obtain this information (it is not provided for every country), we will ask you to send/fax us further documentation so we will try to determine the validity of your credit card number.
When you check out you will be given a choice of several different shipping options to choose from, and their costs. The total shipping charge is based on the actual United States Post Office shipping charge, plus a handling fee of $5.00.
Which international shipping option should I choose?Post Office First Class Mail is the most economical but also the slowest. Delivery time is usually about one week, but can take two weeks. The Post Office does not provide tracking information for this service.
UPS does provide tracking information on their overseas service, and a guaranteed delivery date.
All major credit cards accepted.

In-stock items usually ships the same business day.
Orders paid by check or e-check will not ship until the check has cleared.
