The tubing on the Medela breast pumps is one of the least expensive parts to replace, but there are several different tubes available to fit the various breast pumps. This page shows all the different tubing available from Medela, and which Medela breast pumps that they fit.

Medela pump tube #8007212 or tube #87212 Tubing for Medela Pump In Style and newer models of the Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pumps. Medela item #8007212 and #87212 are exactly the same tube. Medela tube #8007212 is a single tube whereas Medela #87212 is a pair of tubes. It is used on all models of the Medela Original Professional Pump In Style Breast pump, the Medela Pump In Style Traveler Breast pump, and the Medela Pump In Style Companion Breast pump. It is also used on newer models of the Pump In Style Advanced breastpumps which have the words Pump In Style printed a lavender/blue color on the faceplate, and the word ADVANCED printed in black. (If your Pump in Style Advanced has the words Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump printed all in black writing order the tube #8007214.) For old Pump In Style Breastpumps tube #8007212 tubing replaces tube #8007156 and the really old tube #8007071. The tube #8007212 is exactly the same as #8007156 except that the hard adapter is now colored cream, and made of an improved material. Two tubes are needed to double pump with the Pump In Style breast pumps. They are clear plastic tubes, with one soft end and a cream colored hard carbonate-free plastic adapter on the other end. The hard adapter end of the tube is plugged into the back of the breastshield connector, and the plain end of the tubing attaches to the breast pump. Old pumps may list the pump tube part number as #8007071 or #8007156. These pump tubes are no longer manufactured, and have been replaced by this tube #8007212. This newer tube has a longer hard adapter than #8007071 and the adaptor is cream colored but will fit snugly into the back of your breastshield connector. It will not push in all the way up to the adapter hub but fits well enough to provide a very good seal.

If you have a faceplate with these stems and you are using a tube with a large yellow and white adapter on one end (#8007213 or #8007214) you should change them out for the correct tubes. Many moms obtain tubes #8007213 or #8007214 in a kit given to them in the hospital. Those hospital kits are intended to use with hospital pumps like the Medela Symphony or the Medela Lactina, not the Pump In Style.

Tube #8007212 is exactly the same as #8007156 except that the hard adapter is now colored cream, and made of an improved material. Medela pump tube #8007071 Pump tubing for Pump In Style Breastpumps - Professional Model, Traveler, or Companion. Clear hard adapter one end, no adapter on other end As of July 2003 Medela discontinued making this tube. It has been replaced by tube #8007212 (see first tube on this page). Tube #8007212 has the same plain tube end as #8007071 but the clear hard adapter is replaced by a slimmer cream colored adapter, and made of an improved material. Tube #8007212 will fit your pump providing you put it on round the correct way. Why would we mention that? The adapter on tube #8007071 was wide enough that it would fit on the front of the pump as easily as it would to the breastshield connector. So, a lot of moms put the tube on round the wrong way, and the pump worked, but they were not getting the best suction possibke. The hard adapter should be attached to the back of the breastshield connector, and the plain tube end slides over the port on the front of the pump faceplate. As tube #8007071 is no longer available we will be glad to send you its replacement tube #8007212 which will fit your pump. Medela pump tube #8007212 or tube #87212 Tubing for Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pump. This tube does also appear at the top of the page as it is also used for the Pump In Style Orignal Professional! Howver, with the new design for the Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump Medela is now using this tube on the Advanced models made since 2006. How do you know if this includes your pump? Look at the faceplate. If it has the words Pump In Style printed in a lavender color, and the word ADVANCED printed in black immediately underneath that, then you need this tube. Here is an example of that faceplate --

Medela pump tube #8007214. also called #87214 Silicone tube for Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pump manufactured prior to 2006, and also for the Medela Symphony Breastpump. This tube had a two tone yellow and white adapter one end and a small cream colored adapter on the other end. It is made of soft cloudy looking silicone. It is not recommended that you use this tube with other models of the Pump In Style other than the Advanced model, as it is like to break the diaphragm cap or face plate ports. If your pump has the name Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump printed in black ink across the top of the faceplate this is the correct tube to use. This is also the tube to choose for all Symphony Breastpumps.

Medela pump tube #8007180 Silicone tube for Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pump #8007180 introduced in 2003, and also used on the Medela Symphony Breastpump. This tube is no longer being made -- it has now been replaced by tube #8007214 (See below) This tube had the same pale yellow and white adapter on one end as tube #8007214 above. The only difference between the two tubes is that this one has a clear hard adapter whereas tube #8007214 has the updated cream colored adapter to attach it to the breastshield connector. It is not recommended that you use this tube with other models of the Pump In Style other than the Advanced model, as it is like to break the diaphragm cap or face plate ports. Medela pump tube #8007213 Medela pump tubing for the Lactina Breast Pump. This style tube has one two tone yellow end that is round in shape, and one end with a cream colored adapter. This is the tube that is currently included in Lactina Double Pump Kits. The only difference between this tube and #8007179 is that this tube has a cream colored adapter instead of a clear adapter. Tube #8007213 will fit any pump that used tube #8007179. Some moms will receive this tube in a hospital kit, or in a purchased kit, and think it can be used on their Medela Pump In Style Breastpump. It will fit! However, it is not recommended for use with the Pump In Style. It can be used on the Advanced Pump In Style Breastpump that has Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump printed in black across the top of the faceplate, but should not be ussed with any other models of the Pump In Style, as it will likely break off the ports. Medela pump tube #8007062 Old style tubing for Medela Lactina Breast Pump, and Medela Classic Breast Pump. Medela item #8007062. This tubing was used on the Medela Lactina Plus Breast Pump and the Medela Lactina Select Breast Pump. The tubing is clear plastic with a yellow adapter on one end that can be described as a tulip or Christmas tree shape, and a clear hard adapter on the other end. The yellow adapter fits onto the breast pump, and the clear end attaches to the breastshield connector. Some people use this tubing for the Pump In Style Breast Pump. Although it is not designed for that purpose it can be done, but it is a tight fit attaching the yellow adapter to the front of the Pump In Style. If you have Lactina tubes and want to use them on your Pump In Style Breast Pump, cut off the yellow adapters to leave the plain plastic end -- attach this to your Pump In Style -- the diaphragm cap on the front of your pump will last a lot longer that way! The length of the pump tubing is important so cutting the ends may not provide the best suction. Using the correct tubes would be better, but cutting the tubes is a good stopgap measure. Medela is no longer making this tube and we sold our last tube some time ago. If your Lactina pump has this tube you will need to change to the new style Lactina tube #8007213, and purchase a new style Lactina Yellow Connector to attach the tubes to your pump. It is designed to be used specifically with the Medela Swing Breast Pump. However, in summer 2008 Medela changed the design of this tube to have one end with a two tone adapter, and the other end with a small cream colored adapter.
